Tae Sup Wi’ A Fifer is hosted and programmed by James Yorkston
“The idea behind Tae Sup is quite simple – we’re putting together well-kent faces, folk I’ve met on my musical travels, old friends – just making interesting, entertaining and unusual evenings.”
Saturday, November 14, 2015: Tickets available here
Steve Mason
Singer and songwriter from Fife, lead singer in the now disbanded but critically acclaimed Beta Band has gone on to release albums as King Biscuit Time, Black Affair and is now recording his third solo album under his own name for release in 2016 on Double Six / Domino Records. Check out the two previous releases here… expect a solo acoustic mix of material from his rich back catalogue.
Richard Dawson
Rising up from the bed of the River Tyne, a voice that crumbles and soars, that is steeped in age old balladry and finely chiselled observations of the mundane, Richard Dawson is a skewed troubadour at once charming and abrasive. His shambolically virtuosic guitar playing stumbles from music hall tunesmithery to spidery swatches of noisecolour, swathed in amp static and teetering on the edge of feedback. His songs are both chucklesome and tragic, rooted in a febrile imagination that references worlds held dear and worlds unknown.
Pip Dylan
Pip Dylan is a Vestapol playing flamenco lovin’ banjo pickin’ lap steel dobro pumping ceilidh flitting tile laying sangster from the East Neuk o’ Fife. He’s crooned with everyone from them thar villages when they were but nippers – King Creosote / KT Tunstall / James Yorkston / Steve Mason / Lonepigeon – they’ve all taken his barrelhouse licks on board. Nowadays he’s more likely to be seen recording CDr albums in his pickle winkers, selling them around the world to his loyal but scattered fan base. Not to be missed, a gig from one of the rarest of the Fife hermits.
